Job Description

The client is an Apparel Retail company committed to delivering high-quality fast-fashion products and exceptional service to the customers. The HR manager is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team and manage the end-to-end payroll operations in Hong Kong, with future opportunities to support Taiwan's payroll operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • End-to-End Payroll Management: Handle the monthly payroll process for Hong Kong, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with the company's payment schedule.

  • Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with relevant employment legislation, including Hong Kong’s Labor Ordinance and other applicable regulations.

  • Reporting: Prepare and provide monthly payroll reports for senior management to review, highlighting key metrics and any discrepancies.

  • Employee Inquiries: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing timely and accurate information and support.

  • Documentation: Maintain and update payroll records, including employee attendance, leave records, and any other relevant documentation.

  • System Management: Utilize payroll software and systems to efficiently manage payroll operations and ensure data accuracy.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in payroll management.

  • Future Scope: After a year, there is potential to support and manage payroll operations for Taiwan, gaining valuable regional payroll experience.

Requirements


  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably within the retail or apparel industry (will also consider smart HR candidates with lesser experience but will offer Payroll Support title initially)

  • Knowledge: Good understanding of Hong Kong’s Labor Ordinance, MPF regulations and other relevant employment legislation.

  • Technical Skills: Familiar with Payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret payroll data, identify discrepancies, and generate reports.

  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and senior management.

  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information and payroll data

  • Language : Able to read and write English. Speak fluent Cantonese. Able to speak Mandarin is also a plus.
