Job Overview
The hiring manager is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Trade Marketing Manager to join its Hong Kong team. This role will focus on driving trade marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, optimize trade promotions, and support sales growth in the healthy food and beverage category. Initially focused on Hong Kong market, the role may expand to cover the South China market in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Trade Marketing within the FMCG sector, with a passion for healthy living and consumer trends.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Promotion Management: Plan, execute, and monitor trade promotion activities, including managing budgets and listing fees, to maximize ROI and ensure cost-effective spending.
Market & Sales Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to identify growth opportunities and provide actionable insights to the sales and marketing teams.
Channel Strategy: Develop and implement trade marketing strategies tailored to key channels (e.g., supermarkets, convenience stores, health food stores, e-commerce platforms) in Hong Kong.
Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to align trade marketing initiatives with sales objectives and ensure seamless execution at the point of sale.
Brand Activation: Support in-store activations, merchandising, and promotional campaigns to enhance product visibility and consumer engagement.
Budget Oversight: Track and report on trade marketing expenditures, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, distributors, and retailers to secure optimal product placement and promotional support.
Future Expansion: Contribute to the development of trade marketing strategies for potential expansion into the South China market.
Requirements
BA or High Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Around 5-7 years of Trade Marketing experience in the FMCG industry; experience in the food and beverage sector is highly desirable, though candidates from other consumer product categories will be considered.
Proven ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to drive informed decision-making.
Strong track record of managing trade promotion budgets and listing fees effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams and external trade partners.
Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a strong advantage for potential South China market responsibilities.
Familiarity with the Hong Kong retail landscape and trade channels (e.g., supermarkets, health stores, online platforms).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt strategies to evolving market conditions.
Preferred Skills
Passion for healthy food and beverage products and an understanding of consumer preferences in this category.
Experience with digital trade marketing or e-commerce promotions is a plus.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, or similar).
